Road Trip - Day 6

Hello from Phoenix! Today was a strictly driving day. We started in Fort Stockton, TX and ended up here after about 11 hours of driving, stopping only for fuel (and the related potty visits and snack/lunch purchases.) There was very little "road kill" today so we've decided we couldn't be "dead heads" anymore. Instead we noted the interesting road signs: NM had "Dust Storms May Exist" and constantly had construction zones that were interrupted with little 75 MPH breaks of half a mile, then back down to the tedious 65 MPH. Marion did manage to click several photos from the rapidly moving truck, with some of the highlights below. After a dinner at the Dennys next door to our hotel (including a visit with our friend, Beth, who lives in the Phoenix area), we are back in our room and planning an early bedtime so we can hit the road early and hopefully beat the L.A. rush hour traffic. We should be back in Simi Valley late tomorrow...Wow, this has gone by soooo fast!
